Torii to Matsusuegonkuroinari
A torii (鳥居) is the traditional Japanese gate leading to a jinja (Shinto shrine) or, more simply, a sacred area. Its basic structure consists of two vertical support columns and a horizontal pole at the top, and it is often painted vermilion.
During my stay in Ikisan, hosted by Studio Kura, I was blessed to dedicate time to movement research inside Matsusuegonkuroinari.
From this period of attention to inner heavenly responses to the spirit of Kyushu Island, a Totem came out of me, dedicated to Kokura and the fact that we know and a haiku coreography named KOKURA, TALE OF A CLOUD.
