It all came from two parallel love affairs:
 with the Masked Cosmogonics of  The Dogon people of Mali
 and with  "The Evolution Man" by Roy Lewis: on one hand, a unique "Panic" vision of being in the World,  on the other a great work of science fiction.
So, here we are, to UNCLE VANIA, brother, alter ego of the Sapiens Sapiens, the one who does not want to evolve, or rather, who decides not to follow the group, to rather be on his own, upon the trees, like Calvino's  Il Barone Rampante, like Peter Pan.
